digital learning days

We are honored to have Carrie Siegmund from NEGA RESA, a Google Certified Educator and #LON19 cohort member to give us a weekly resource for Digital Learning. This week, she has chosen to highlight:

#GADOE Digital Learning

GaDOE Just in Time for Teacher: Digital Learning Days Micro-Course that “introduces digital learning basics and assists in planning for digital learning days”. This short 1-2 hour online course is an excellent resource for teachers who are entirely new to teaching, planning, and organizing learning using distance learning.

This week’s integration strategy to accompany resource:

Collaborative Google Slides: Just in Time for Teachers: Digital Learning Days to guide and encourage school admin/teachers to

  • Step 1: Complete the short online course (1-2 hours)
  • Step 2: Pass the review quiz (6 questions) & earn a badge
  • Step 3: Add a Slide to the Slide deck to reflect, share recognition, and receive a reward! (Note: Step 3 is an addition that I’ve built to encourage teacher reflection and collaboration, as well as a way for administrators to reward (think jeans passes!) and recognize the teachers who complete the three steps.).

If a school chooses to use these Slides, they’ll simply make a copy (file–> make a copy) and then share the slides with their teachers (giving them editing rights). I’d also be happy to serve as a collaborator on a school’s slide deck to provide feedback on the teacher’s reflections if that would be helpful.

We do hope this is helpful, and please do not hesitate to reach out to GeorgiaSTEM (comments below or on Social Media) or Carrie (Twitter @siegmundIT) with any questions or support your system might need.

Also, please continue to encourage any GA Educators needing help to sign up for a 1:1 video conference for real-time support using this link: Want to Book a Time to Connect & Create Online? Click Here!
